Body Measurement System
I was contracted by Jarden to develop a body measurement system. The system was designed to work with multiple users simultaneously. The scale was the central device in the system, but it would connect to other devices including a digital body measuring tape and an activity tracker. It would track the user’s progress over time.
The measuring tape was designed to connect to the scale via Bluetooth. The user would select the body part to measure on either the measuring tape or the scale. The results would be sent to the scale and stored. I was tasked with designing both the industrial design and the user interface. The UI and UX were limited due to the costs. The devices were not touch screen devices, and had a limited physical interface.
The concept of creating a set of devices for measuring and tracking a users weight and fitness was never fully realized. The body tape measure was taken to production in a more simplified form. You can buy it here.
